This cue was written for a Pepperdine University multimedia web presentation intended to celebrate the institution's history while gathering support for a new brand logo. The segment featured key text words, historic photos, highlighted mottos, and a graphic title.
Stylistically, this cue is rather unique- blending ethnic African sounds and voices with traditional Western symphonic themes. The cue is a mix of both the contemporary and the traditional- intended to sound "quirkily" new yet proud of established institutional traditions. Interestingly, I was commissioned to write music bridging the contrasting styles exemplified by recording artist Moby and film composer James Horner.
This score was composed, recorded, and produced entirely in my home studio. |
